THE TRUTH'S CORNER

What is disappointment? Is anyone ever disappointed? Have not we all been disappointed? Yes, there shall be many disappointments in life.
Disappointment: disappointment is the emotional state of dissatisfaction, sadness, or frustration that occurs when your hopes, expectations, or desires fail to manifest in reality.
This blog is just an insight or expression of some of the insights that I have observed and learnt through the many disappointments within my life, up to now.
The whole world is filled with disappointments which comes to all people and mankind upon this globe. There is no one who is immune to it: nor can it be escaped for too long a time. It is inevitable.
There have been a multitude of disappointments through my life. Ups, and many downs that have been hard at times. Yet it has been these downs that shaped my character, personality, and life for the positive through these many years.
It is through these hardships and disappointments, that I have come to learn to, and make a part of my life issues like: patience, compassion, the meaning of and search for true love; to be thankful in and through all things, the love for my fellow man, returning to Hashem (G-d) and salvation: hope, acceptance, to be quiet while practicing listening skills, etc. etc. etc.
The business which I run, at times requires an extra hand or two. There have been many attempts to acquire help from those who say that they need employment: and put on airs of their desire to work.
But when it came to the day of work, or doing the actual task required, they either did not show up or, were unable to perform the job that was appointed unto them. This always left me in a bind. Causing me to have to perform a two- or three-man job on my own. Or having a job take many hours or days longer than it should have been because of the alleged workers that did not show up or could not perform. Very disappointing.
The passing of my father on the 18th of March 2026. This was not only a sad time, but a disappointing time and moment also. A time that can never be relived or turned around.
Why was this so disappointing? Well, there were so many things that I would have liked to do with my father. We were able to do many things together later in life. yet there was so much missed through the years.
He and my mother broke their union together when I was 12 years of age. We lived in "Virginia" at the time, after leaving "Germany" 1970: I was 11 calendars that year.
After that he moved to "Indiana," and we moved to Indiana as well in 1972. When I did get to see him again, I was leaving college and moving back to Indiana. Back to - is because we (mother, brothers, & sisters) had moved from Indiana after two years, to "Saint Louis, Missouri.
Our relationship was strained betwixt one the other: which caused us (brothers and sisters included) not to be able to communicate freely or openly with our father. So, we did not share things together emotionally, verbally, in closeness or oneness. Then, he was gone.
These examples are just a drop from the 5-gallon jug of disappointments. Yet they did not keep me down. Nor did I allow them to. Even when I was homeless on several occasions. I would not let that situation in the moment to cause me to look down on myself, nor to give up. Homelessness would not and did not define me in a negative way.
I kept myself clean, and in nice clothes. I held my head up and continued to move forward, keeping my eye on the prize as to say. not allowing the dark thoughts of others to keep me from what I wanted to accomplish in life.
The hard knocks, rough times, disappointing people, hidden racism, the bigoted un-insightful religious leaders, hypocritical generic friends, a few uninspired lady friends, etc.; were and are only steppingstones in the journey of my growth.
Patience, learning to respond to and not react to words and situations, being thankful in and through all things - good or bad (not thankful for bad things; only thankful that I got to learn something from that, or needing to correct in my life, or to put away from my life).
So many things as well which I have learnt from so many disappointments. Having prospered mentally, emotionally, psychologically, physically, and financially from the things which I have learnt from the negatives through life.
I am not saying that disappointments are easy, or that they should be avoided: no. I am saying that they will come; that there may and do come with some setbacks, tears, and lose.
Yet from all of it there can be gained a rich and fruitful positivity of growth. Optimism instead of pessimism, thankfulness instead of complaints are the key to the beginning of the positive growth and success in life, which we all seek.
It is my hope that we all can come to learn to see these negatives as a pill which we must take, to help you heal and to become a better version of ourselves. Because,
from disappointments, comes growth...
