This is the 2nd installment of Truth's Corner 03-27-2026.
The truthful thought for today:
RAGE: it's subtle possession
Have you ever wondered about yourself; or about others? Why it is that at certain times, certain moments, or in certain events of our lives, where we become so angry! Sometimes the anger is not even justified for that particular situation. They were there, they or that situation caught me at the wrong time, the wrong moment, and they got it.
Hopefully, this Truth's Corner edition will shed some light and helpful understanding on the issue? Most all humans have encountered this issue to one degree or the other.
Some have become so angry that they literally became sick and ill. There are those who vomit all over the place. I do not believe that it is green split peas as in the "Exorcist?" But spew, they do! Some faint, some cry, some shake uncontrollably. Others turn beet red, and/or foam at the mouth. Some get so angry that they take classes to learn to overcome this monster. There are those who join monasteries to overcome this beast within, and to learn to gain mastery over body and mind. Many of us Jews try to learn to control: " the evil impulse (Yatzer Hora), or even the evil tongue (Lashon Hora).
Sadly, there are many that are possessed with so much rage and frustration that they commit the ultimate act of having no control, and take the lives of others in rageful, uncontrolled, urging impulse. And then, when that spirit leaves the person in that split second of clarity, realizing what they have done; and then asking themselves in the total shock of full realization, knowing they cannot take it back they say: "what have I done!" Or: "no this can't be, I'm sorry. Wake up, get up!" but it is done. RAGE has claimed its victims on both sides.
Myself, (perhaps some of you with open minds may understand the path I am travelling, in thought & the desire for awareness?) (Yet, no one reading is compelled to agree with or side on the side of these Truthful insights. It is subjective in mind and spirit: to the level which each has reached at this moment in time. Which makes this all relative to each person's ingrained religious walls, or the psychological & medical degrees that many dogmatically embrace.) ...
Myself, being one who seeks truth, and desires for others to have truth beyond that which has been forcibly shoved down the throats of billions; and blindly accepted by us: I believe that these outbursts and uncontrolled rageful impulses are spiritual in nature.
It is not my hope to Beit Den (Bait Den), nor ever to convert anyone. I only provide Knowledge and truth, so that you the reader may have a more informed perspective and outlook on any situation or problem that has been or may come into your lives. Or help one to understand the things that have come to pass: yet you never got to understand - the why? These blogs are meant to help you be a better you, for you: which in turn helps your fellow mankind around you, because you have learnt to be a better person which helps all. A better you, means a better tomorrow. A better tomorrow means a better world to come. So, let's get started on you, today.
Let me give you some examples of anger and rage, which will show you why I have come to see, believe, and then understanding how to act accordingly to this spiritual degrading in mankind. These are only examples. Tools to help you utilize your maximum potentials to build a better you. When you buy and build a bike or a computer, you have a manual or manuals. This I know well! My printers all had two and three manuals to go with them. Even then it took me a while to follow them. but I finally got everything installed correctly. If it was not for those manuals, I would have been lost. Those manuals & instructions help me to be a better me, because of their instructions and guidance.
Examples of: RAGE, & Uncontrolled Anger.
One brother favored over another brother. His sacrifice accepted: the other brother rejected. It was every body's fault but his own. and so out of anger, he Murdered his innocent naive brother: Bereshit (Genesis) 4:3-8. Uncontrolled anger, jealousy, and rage, lead to murder.
It is kind of sad when it seems like everyone in the family hates you. Which way do you turn? Who can you confide in? I am sure that this was on this brother's mind once or twice. He is highly favored of his father & loved dearly. He tells the family that he is going to be a big man someday and rule over them all! The brother's anger for their younger brother was so intense that they would have murdered him right there many of times if they thought that they could get away with it. Bereshit (Genesis) 37:20-28. They sought to murder him due to jealousy and rage. Two of them had moments of clarity and saved the brother. The others still wanted him gone one way or the other.
A son allegedly steals a laptop. The mother tries to show the son the errors of his ways by condemning what he has done, so that he can become a better person as grows older. The son becomes enraged and shoots his mother in the head, due to his sudden uncontrolled outward manifestation of anger.
Was there regret? I am unsure. Was there rage? Yes! For there she lays.
The world in general, as well as our society has become lazy in its thinking, bodily movement, and in emotional control. We have become a society that has accepted all types of moral deficiencies. If it feels good, do it. Live and let live. Hey, just try it; everyone else is doing it too.
We are calling good bad, and bad has become good. We say that, that person really took their anger out on that person. But I understand where they are coming from. We have abandoned hope for a better nation or a people within the nation. There is no more - One Nation Under G-d. It is now, one nation under self!
I have seen road rage so bad that people not only cuss one the other out, but they get out and beat up the other person's vehicle or shoots them!
What is the medical explanation of rage?
In medicine and psychology, rage is defined as a state of intense, violent, and uncontrollable anger or aggression. It often manifests as sudden, explosive outbursts that are disproportionate to any triggering event, sometimes requiring medical intervention, such as in cases of Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED). Merriam-Webster.
Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED). That sometimes needs, medical attention.
that IED abbreviation reminds me of roadside bombs set out for our troops to run over and be harmed or destroyed by (Improvised Explosive Device). You never knew when one was going to go off; nor the damage that it was to do?
Much like Intermittent Explosive Disorder: you never know when that angry person is going to blow, or how intense that explosion will be at that time around, or the damage that it will do?? But there is hope.
First, remember these two things. You do not have to remember anything else, because you can come back and re-read this or other blogs before or after. Just two things are very important to remember.
1) Anything learnt, can be unlearnt. Any habit formed, can be unformed.
2) It took a while for you to form this habit or practice from learning. So, it will take you a while to form new patterns from new learning: and new habits from new practices.
Two examples:
A: There is this forest that was thick and lush. A deeply grooved pathway from C to D was formed through years of use. One day the people disappeared. But the pathway remained for years until the jungle finally reclaimed all of the pathway.
B: I used to smoke. For 20 years I had those cancer sticks in my mouth. Many times, I tried to quit, but to no avail. The habit had gotten a hold on me from all those years, and it was hard to break.
I had stopped a few times for a month or a year! But each time through some stressful situation (A divorce, laid off from work, loss of a loved one or a best friend, etc.), I would go back to them. All of those times were practice and reconditioning times for when the final time came to put them down for good. In 1997, I was finally successful.
What helped me to finally give it up for good was a piece of scripture. "Know ye not that thou art the temple of Ayl (G-d), and that the power of Ayl dwelleth in thee?" "If any person defile the temple of Ayl, them shalt Ayl destroy: for the temple of Ayl is holy, which temple thou art."
I was smoking a cigarette at the time. As soon as I read that, I was convicted to stop! Not because I had Just read that. I had read it many times before, but it had no meaning to me at that moment of reading. It was just reading knowledge.
This time, while smoking, the words hit home. Why, because it was not the spirit of rage that was upon me, it was the power of HaShem (The Name) that was upon me. As I sat there, all of these images came upon me. Images of people who had lost half or all of their jaw and mouth from chewing tobacco cancer. People who had lost a lung from smoking cancer, who now had a very hard time in life breathing wise. Or people who had smoked so long that when they did give it up, they were on oxygen tanks and passed away in months, to a few years later. I knew that if I did not stop then, I would have had breathing problems: or died early.
My wife would not give up smoking, and developed breast cancer. Her doctor told her to quit several times, but she would not. she would tell me that everyone had to die some way, so she wanted to keep her cigs. So, she did. Later developing metastatic breast cancer that kept moving all over her body. Finally ending up in her spinal fluid which got into her brain and terminated her life. The second to the last thing I remember her saying to me was: "I want to live. I don't want to die."
Bad habits can destroy us, and/or those around us. Bad habits and character can be changed and redirected: but it takes time. Remember that character is formed by what we do over and over again through habit. Whether it be in the metaphorical, psychological, literal, or artistic sense. Any one and, all of these things are formed through repetition of habits, actions or techniques: which makes habits-that become character. So, remember the two points above (1 & 2). In doing this, you will be successful in your daily life without having to join some monastery.
In the First installment I have 3 sperate lessons on different meditations for daily use, practice, and journaling: which will help you in your daily life, and the redirecting of your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and spiritual walk. Whatever that walk and belief may be? The principles are sound and effective. Yet you have to want the change and, be willing to put in the work and effort to bring about that change. No one can do it for you. I can give you the tools to scale down the mountain, but if you choose to jump off the mountain instead of using the tools provided, that is on you. One can lead their horse to water, but you can't force the horse to drink it. And that's Truth's Corner.
